From the North :
(approx. 50 minutes from the M25, 2hrs from the M1)
Follow the M4, M40, M1, A1/A1M, M11 or A12 to the M25. Continue round the M25, turn off onto the M23 at junction 7 and head south on the M23 towards Brighton. The M23 becomes the A23 at Crawley.
Just as you are about to enter Brighton you pass under the A27 - follow the signs for Worthing up and around onto the A27 (back over the road you were just on). Continue west along the A27 and through the road tunnel at Portslade.
Leave the A27 (just after you exit the large road cutting at the top of the next hill) as you cross the Shoreham flyover just before the River Adur. Follow the signs south (A283) to Shoreham-by-Sea.
From Horsham follow the A24 south to the Washington roundabout. Turn left onto the A283 towards and past Steyning. Continue south down the river valley with the River Adur. Under the Shoreham flyover complex go around the roundabout and follow the signs south (A283) to Shoreham-by-Sea.
From the East - Kent :
(approx. 1 hour 45 mins from Folkestone)
North Kent : Follow the A2 / A299 / M2 to the M25 then follow directions 'from the North' above. Alternatively you can transfer from the M2 to the M20 via the A229 at Blue Bell Hill at Chatham, then follow the M20 / M26 to the M25 then follow directions 'from the North' above
South Kent : Follow the A20 / M20 / M26 to the M25 then follow directions 'from the North' above. Alternatively follow directions 'from the East - Sussex' below if you do not want to use motorways.
From the East - Sussex :
(approx. 1 hour from Eastbourne)
- From Rye / Hastings / Bexhill follow the A259 through to Polegate, then take the A27 towards Lewes.
- From Eastbourne follow the A22 north or from Hailsham follow the A22 south through to Polegate, then take the A27 towards Lewes.
- From Royal Tunbridge Wells / Uckfield follow the A26 / A22 / A26 to Lewes. Turn left (south) at the roundabout and go through the Cuilfail Tunnel. Then turn right (west) at the next roundabout onto the A27.
- From Ashford / Tenterden / Hawkhurst / Heathfield / Halland / Ringmer follow the A28 / A229 / A265 / B2102 / B2192 to Lewes. Turn left (south) at the roundabout and go through the Cuilfail Tunnel. Then turn right (west) at the next roundabout onto the A27.
- From Newhaven (and cross channel port) pick up the A26 and travel north following signs for Lewes / Brighton up the river valley. At the roundabout turn left onto the A27, go over the railway level crossing and up the hill to the next roundabout where you go straight over.
Then follow the A27 west towards, and past, Brighton & Hove. Continue west along the A27 towards Worthing and through the road tunnel at Portslade.
Leave the A27 at the first exit just as you start to cross the Shoreham flyover next to the River Adur. Follow the signs south (A283) to Shoreham-by-Sea.
From the West :
(approx. 1 hour from Portsmouth)
Follow the A31 / M27 / A27 east past Southampton, Portsmouth, Chichester, Arundel and Worthing. Continue west along the A27 and leave the A27 as you cross the Shoreham flyover immediately after crossing the River Adur. (If you go through the road tunnel at Portslade you have gone too far). Follow the signs south (A283) to Shoreham-by-Sea.
From Southampton (and cross channel port) follow the A3024/M271 to the M27, then the directions above.
From Portsmouth (and cross channel port) follow the A3/M275 to the M27, then the directions above.
