What can be recycled :
If it's not on the list, then sorry, we can't take it ...

Items suitable for recycling
These must be rinsed and washed out, and if possible squashed flat (we can then get more into our recycling collection vehicles and make fewer trips), and then put out clean, dry and loose in your blue box or recycling wheelie bin.
Glass bottles and jars :
- All coloured glass bottles
- All coloured glass jars
- See also : broken glass and sharp objects
Plastic bottles :
- All types and all colours of plastic bottles such as :
- Milk bottles
- Detergent bottles
- Shampoo bottles
- Bleach bottles
- 'Bottle shaped' plastic bottles
- but NOT engine oil bottles
Cans :
- All aluminium and steel food and drinks cans
- Aerosol cans
Paper, card, magazines and newspapers :
- Newspapers
- Magazines
- Catalogues
- Yellow Pages
- Telephone directories
- Office paper
- Envelopes (please remove the clear pastic windows first)
- Junk mail
- Cardboard and cardboard boxes (flattened and cut down to fit in your blue box eg: cereal boxes, soap powder boxes, ready meal sleeves, toilet rolls, etc)
- Greetings cards (birthday cards, Christmas cards, etc)
- Gift wrapping paper from birthday or Christmas presents
- Brochures
Liquid or food containers (known as tetra-paks) :
- Fruit juice cartons
- Milk cartons
- Long life milk cartons
- Soup cartons
Sorry, we can't take the following items :
- Plastic bags
- Plastic film
- Plastic wrapping
- Plastic food trays
- Yoghurt pots
- margarine tubs
- Ice cream containers
- Any other plastics containers
- Aluminium foil
- Aluminium food trays
- Metalic or waxed paper
