Website update
Adur District Council is a keen supporter of the Central Government programme for electronic or 'e'-government. To check the progress of all councils in the UK a ‘Better Connected’ survey takes place each year of all local government websites. This is carried out by the Local Government Society of ICT managers (SOCITM). The latest ‘Better Connected’ survey was published in March 2009. It placed Adur's website in the second highest category 'Transactional' for the third year running.
100% e-enablement
This was the original central government target set, meaning that all services should be accessible from the website by December 2005. Overall, we achieved 98% against the 100% goal by December 2005 with only a few exceptions for very obscure services or where we felt we couldn’t achieve the target without major disruption for little gain.
This included a full set of electronic forms (e-forms) to apply for all our services and pay on-line using your credit/debit card.
Accessibility
We are particularly pleased that we are highly rated for our continued work with accessibility standards. For further information see website awards and the accessibility section.
