Councils go on ‘dirty dozen’ mission

Adur and Worthing council services are on a ‘dirty dozen’ mission
to clean up streets in the two areas as part of the Big tidy up campaign.
Nominations are needed from the public to find the 12 worst streets for action and give them a deep clean. Council workers will come out in force and attack gutters, pavements and roads.
Parked cars can make it difficult for mechanical sweepers, so during a clean up parking restrictions will be put in place so the gutters can be cleaned.
Adur’s cabinet member for a clean and green environment, Keith Dollemore said: “Streets with the most nominations will get the deep clean treatment, so if you think your street is in need - get calling.”
The ‘dirty dozen’ clean up will start in September so if people think their street should be on the hit list they can call 01273 263162 and leave their nomination by the end of August 2008.
