New plans for 20 homes in Lancing

A modern affordable housing development of 20 homes meeting 21st century needs could be built in Lancing to replace the current Rosemary Simmons sheltered housing scheme Burdwood House on Brighton Road, Lancing.
A planning application has been lodged with Adur District Council for the new scheme. The new two and three storey building facing Brighton Road would include balconies. The development would include four one bedroom flats for people with learning difficulties, a communal room and room for a scheme manager to sleep on site. There would be 10 other one bedroom flats and 6 two bedroom flats. These would be for general housing needs. The development also includes two one bedroom bungalows to the rear of the main development, these would be earmarked for older residents.
The planning application from Rosemary Simmons Memorial Housing Association says it is looking to improve the service and facilities available and wants to demolish the current substandard building and replace it with a modern scheme which complies with modern needs and standards.
The plans application number ADC/0235/08 are available to view on out GIS system ot at the Civic Centre, Shoreham.
