Sport on the move in Fishersgate

Young people in Fishersgate will get their first taste of the first portable sports arena to arrive in West Sussex on Tuesday when it pays a visit to Fishersgate Recreation Ground from 4.30pm – 5.30pm. Basketball, football and street hockey are just some of the sports which the arena can be used for. The enclosed space means games are fast and fun.
Funded by Adur District Council and Adur in Partnership this facility will allow young people to play and enjoy sports they wouldn’t have available on their doorstep. The arena has been tried out in some of Adur’s schools and has proved a big hit, all age groups can use it. It also needs a name and young people are invited to come up with suggestions.
Local councillor, Jim Funnell said: “What a great idea, now sport can be played anywhere in the district.”
