Car boot sales
Adur
District Council take bookings from local charitable organisations in order
that they may arrange car boot sales to raise funds.
Car boot sales are held annually at Adur Recreation Ground during the months of April to September (see dates below).
To apply for permission to hold a car boot sale, applications need to be received from registered charities only, by the end of December for events being held the following year. Details of allocated spaces are then notified in January with confirmation by the end of February.
A fee is charged for the car boot sale which includes the supply of road cones, car boot sale signs and marshal tabards (also a returnable deposit is required for litter collection). For details see the current fees and charges booklet. (Note : The fee does not include any toilet facility provision, see details below).
For
further information on fees and terms and conditions, please contact Parks
Services.

Toilet Facilities at the Adur Recreation Ground
Please note that our terms and conditions state :
Our terms and conditions relating to the hire of Adur Recreation Ground do not require public toilet facilities to be provided for car boot sales or Fun Fairs. The only references are :
Car boot sales - "The cost of hiring must be paid 14 days prior to the sale. (Please note that mobile toilets will not be supplied)".
Fun Fairs - "Ensure that adequate toilet facilities are available for use by persons accompanying the fun fair and their personal visitors".
Anybody that hires the Adur Recreation Ground should be advised that the council only provides toilets at the Adur Recreation Ground sufficient for the casual user of the ground. We do not purport to offer sufficient facilities for larger events.
All hirers of the ground are to be strongly advised that they should ensure adequate toilet facilities are available for the numbers who are expected to attend their event.
The council will accept fair criticism for management of its own toilets, but will not expect to accept criticism if event organisers do not make sufficient toilet provision. This applies to all hirers of the recreation ground.
Toilets at the Adur Outdoor Activity Centre are not available for use by people attending events based at the Adur Recreation Ground. Members of the public attending events are advised to contact events organisers directly to access alternative toilet provision.
