Urban Transport Plan (UTP)

West Sussex County Council logoArising from The Local Transport Plan for West Sussex (July 2000), a Shoreham and Southwick Transport Forum was established in order to ensure that the local views on how the area's transport infrastructure and services should develop.

A draft Shoreham and Southwick Urban Transport Plan was prepared in June 2002, which took account of the discussions at the Forum.

One of the reasons the final UTP was not produced was that it was deferred until a decision was made on the outcome of the South Coast Multi Modal Study (SoCoMMS).

Although decisions have been made on SoCoMMS, the need to enable a clearer link to be made with the Local Strategic Partnership, a new Transport Forum for the District as a whole, has been proposed to replace the Shoreham and Southwick Forum.
