Street lighting and illuminated signs

West Sussex County Council logoWest Sussex County Council is responsible for street lighting and illuminated signs in the district. West Sussex has a new contractor (SOLVe) looking after its 72,000 street lights and illuminated signs.

Value service

SOLVe will be paid according to how many lights are kept working. The aim is to have at any one time at least 98% of lights in working order.

How to report a fault with a street light, illuminated sign or report a damaged road or footpath or pothole, etc ...

If a street light is not working, or is lit during the day, ring the hotline number or report it on-line :

with on-line forms for reporting problems with : streetlights / signs, bollards, pot holes, footpath trip hazards, flooding, traffic signals and more ...

How long will the repair take?

SOLVe will be expected to repair routine lamp failures within five working days. Some damaged equipment or electricity supply problems may take longer to repair or be the responsiblity of EDF (was Seeboard) (www.edfenergy.com/edf-energy/showPage.do?name=homeenergy.til) or Southern Electric (www.southern-electric.co.uk).
