Facts and figures about Adur
A community profile for the Adur District and Worthing Borough 2011
The community wellbeing team of Adur and Worthing Council’s have
produced a community profile for both the areas of Adur and Worthing. The
report brings together in one document statistical data from a broad range
of issues ranging from population, inequalities, and crime. It provides a
snapshot in time of life in these two areas. The report contains data on
as local a level as is available and where possible it also contains data
on a regional and national level so that comparisons can be made.
The report is divided into six main sections:
- Demographics and population
- Deprivation and inequalities
- Benefits and unemployment
- Education
- Health
- Crime and anti-social behaviour
For the reader with less time there is also an executive summary at the beginning of the document which lists key points from each of the sections above.
The report provides hard fast statistical data in an easy to understand format. It does not contain anecdotal information or try to provide solutions to the issues raised. If you require further information contact Lynne Ward, Neighbourhood Manager of the Community Wellbeing team.
By its nature the report will require to be updated on a regular basis as more recent data becomes available. This will be particularly true for when results from the 2011 national census are released.
The report is intended for everyone who has an interest in Adur and Worthing. It will in particular be a useful tool for informing decision making, assisting in the setting of priorities, the completion of funding bids and assisting in the most effective use of resources.
