How will we do this?
- The team is confident that, by taking a multi-agency approach in all these areas , we are more likely to be targetting the right people and ensuring the correct interventions are at our disposal.
- Already, drug and alcohol education is being presented in local schools, jointly with the Community Drug and Alcohol worker and the School's Liaison Officer.
- Acceptable Behaviour Contracts are being drawn up and Anti-social Behaviour Orders are being applied for jointly by Sussex Police and Adur District Council.
- Projects are being developed in partnership with the Youth Offending Team in "painting out " areas which are covered in grafitti.
- Young people will be identified and referred to the fire service 'Firebreak' and 'Firesetter's' schemes as appropriate.
- Hard to reach youths are being targeted by the Detached Youth Worker Team and will provide advice and information to promote the social inclusion of these young people.
- Local facilities are to be developed to ensure they are used to their maximum potential and to facilitate joint activities between the old and the young in the district. Local community groups are being consulted with a view to improving the local environment and confidence.
- We as the Safer Adur Team are committed to improving the lives and the confidence of the local communities within Adur. The Crime and Disorder Strategy for Adur in 2005-2008 contains the action plans for tackling the issues in Adur over the next three years.
